A graduate of Durham University (Chemistry) and The Royal Air Force College Cranwell, he accrued 20+ years of experience and expertise forged in a variety of dynamic and challenging roles as a Royal Air Force Senior Officer in the Royal Air Force Regiment. Known for his positive mindset in adversity, ability to build rapport and trust, and for his unassuming professional diligence, he excelled in leading, coaching and mentoring high-performing individuals, teams and organisations in fast-paced, complex, high-risk and high-profile environments. A committed family man, he retired from front-line service in 2017 after commanding The Queen's Colour Squadron of the Royal Air Force (63 Squadron RAF Regiment).
Founding Synergy Positive in 2017, he now translates his continuing professional journey, insight and passion for learning and implementing the latest evidence-based approaches to creating and sustaining high performing teams into a compelling blend of consultancy, coaching and mentoring. Beyond family and work, he's a keen musician, aspiring Stand Up Paddleboard adventurer and has muddled his way round a variety of ultra-distance events, including Ironman, Ironman 70.3 and the Original Mountain Marathon in semi-respectable times.
